TANZANIA BUYER GUIDE
Tanzania Ambulance Procurement Guide for MOH & NGO Buyers
A stage-by-stage procurement framework covering mission definition, RHD chassis, equipment, evidence, inspection and handover.
1. Define the service mission
State whether the vehicle is for stable transfer, BLS emergency response, ALS/monitored transfer, rough-road rescue or outreach support. Record the crew, patient, route and daily-duty assumptions.
2. Freeze the RHD base vehicle
Require the exact chassis model, right-hand-drive evidence, fuel, transmission, emissions option, dimensions, weights, tyres and local service plan.
3. Approve the patient compartment
Review the scaled layout, loading geometry, seats and restraints, working clearance, storage, cleanable surfaces, ventilation and cooling.
4. Itemise medical scope
Separate conversion fittings from regulated devices. For every item state quantity, make/model responsibility, power, mount, document, warranty and service owner.
5. Confirm Tanzania import responsibilities
Align the buyer/importer, current TBS/PVoC route, TMDA device responsibility where applicable, consignee and clearing responsibilities before production.
6. Inspect and hand over
Use a signed checklist, close defects before shipment and hand over manuals, parts, training, serial-number schedules and warranty contacts.
